Welcome to ClosetMaid’s new Design Consultation Program for Home Depot!
ClosetMaid is happy to offer a service to new and returning consumers wanting help determining the right solution and design for their storage space. After many years of designing thousands of storage areas, we truly understand many of your storage area challenges.
That’s why we created this new program, to put our knowledge to work by connecting you with your own Design Consultant. Your Design Consultant will not only guide you through every step of this process but also will be able to help with any future organizational projects you might have.
How the Design Consultation Program works -
- Give us a call on the design consultation phone number, 800-874-0008.
- As a Design Consultant is available, they will discuss your needs and place an order for your design.
- When the design is complete, it will be sent to you within 72 hours via email (or Fax).
- If you have changes (and it is never a problem to change your design!), we will redesign your area until you are satisfied. The design will be sent to you upon completion. If you would like, Fax your changes to 1-866-337-8691.
- Your Design Consultant will call to discuss your completed design and to make sure that you are satisfied.
- Do you have additional storage areas that we can help you design? Let your Design Consultant know that you have taken your measurements and are ready to get back to planning.
- If you aren’t ready to discuss future projects at this time, your Design Consultant can make an appointment for a future Day and Time to give you a call.
- If a Design Consultant is not available, please leave a message with your Name, Telephone/Cell Number, email
address, Fax number (if available) and the best Days and Times for the Design Consultant to reach you. Or send an email to closetmaidchatteam@closetmaid.com with your Name, Telephone/Cell Number, Fax
number (if available) and the best Days and Times to reach you.
Your Design Consultant will then call to discuss your needs.
Before you speak with your Design Consultant, the following information will be helpful during your call.
- Write down the measurements (in inches) of your closet. (A rough sketch of your storage area may be helpful, but is not required unless it is an odd shaped area.)
- front to back (depth),
- side to side (width), and
- floor to ceiling (height).
- width of walls on either side of door

- Bi-fold
- Pocket
- Sliding
- Standard (Swing in/out)

- How will this space function? Master bedroom closet, child's closet, spare room closet, linen, playroom, pantry, garage etc.
- Is this a Reach-In or Walk-In closet?
- Is this storage space shared?
- Do you have –
- more long hanging items (like dresses, coats, pants hanging by their cuffs or waist, etc.)?
How much hanging space is needed for these items?
- more short items (like jackets, shirts, blouses, pants folded over a hanger)?
How much hanging space is needed for these items?
- How much space is needed for stackable or folded items (boxes, sweaters, linens)?
- How much shoe storage is needed?
- Do you need drawer storage for small items?
- Is there anything else that will take up space in this area?
It might sound like a lot, but you’ll be very glad that you took the time to write down your answers so that this process can run smoothly.
Before you know it, you will have conquered the chaos in one area and will be ready to take on another project.
And, just remember that when you are ready, we are here to lend you our helping hands.
